James Nelson, as our resident chemist and Specialist In Land Condition (SiLC), has accepted an invitation to sit on the Professional and Technical Panel (PTP) of SiLC representing the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in relation to the ongoing development of SiLC and promoting professionalism in contaminated land management.
James says "It is an honour to be invited to join a team of recognised experts in contaminated land." he added "I am certain I can contribute in promoting higher levels of understanding and professionalism in such a diverse and challenging field."
Discovery CE Ltd (DCE) is delighted to announce that we are now part of the Environment Agency National Contaminated Land
Consultancy Framework (NCCF). We tendered for the work with Hyder Consulting
(UK) Ltd and together came second in the panel of the six organisations on the NCCF. We
will be primarily covering the Midlands region for Hyder but will also be
offering help and advice across the whole of England and Wales.

DCE has undertaken detailed environmental due diligence work for our client IM
Properties PLC in its bid to buy the prestigious Hub site in Witton, Birmingham,
UK. DCE inspected and reviewed thousands of pages of data and reports relating
to site clearance/demolition, contaminated land and groundwater and provided a
series of plot specific audit reports to allow IM Properties PLC to secure
funding and ultimately buy the site.
