Discovery has recently been involved with a huge earthworks job in Rushden, the project is expected to have 9000m² of new buildings with associated car parks at the Rushden Lakes shopping centre, also known as the Western Leisure and Retail Development Park. The earthworks comprise the re-use of 31337m³ stockpiled materials (Based on Cut & Fill Contours, NWK-150070-EX-SK-0062), which is understood to be site derived from previous neighbourhood development phases.

The general principles of the earthworks are to provide an upfilled profile that has a minimum 5% CBR and 30% finished formation platform. Take a look at the exciting snapshots of the works below:
