Discovery have been undertaking several warehouse slab investigations for CogentBC. DCE staff have been to units at Harlow, High Wycombe and even Waterlooville.
Slab investigations attempt to identify the construction make up of the floor slab (concrete thickness) and immediate underlying ground conditions. This will involve utilising a dynamic sampling rig to core through the warehouse floor and then sampling to 5m bgl with Standard Penetration Tests every metre.
Concrete core samples were recovered for Uniaxial Compressive Strength testing with soil logs provided with the letter report. Below are various images of the different slab investigations.
