Discovery CE are able to provide Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) risk assessments, a crucial part of a ground investigation when planning a new development or civil engineering project in a historically bombed area.

Zetica and 1st Line Defence provide these types of risk assessments, the reports are included in DCE’s health safety RAMs. There are two types of UXO risk assessments; one being a preliminary UXO risk assessment which gives the probability of UXO being present in the selected investigation area. The other being a detailed UXO risk assessment which provides a more precise threat level and history of the local area, the level of bombing it received during World War II. This detailed assessment will also determine whether an UXO technician needs to be present during the site investigation, this sometimes being the case for ground investigations in major cities like London, Birmingham, Bristol and Mantchester.
