Discovery CE have been apart of a major Earthworks contract for a site in Cannock, Staffordshire. The investigation area comprised of a former open cast quarry which was backfilled via unknown operations between 1984 and 1993. DCE investigations across the site revealed Made Ground depths to between 86m and 90m bgl.
Discovery were appointed to design a ground improvement strategy for the development of an industrial unit on site with financial, time and special constraints. Following assessment of the suitability of the different ground improvement strategies DCE developed a successful and unique ground improvement strategy which allowed delivery of the project within time and budget. As a result the site’s traditional pad foundations can be used for the proposed development. Check out the progress of the project in the photos below!
