Looks like we’ve got two similar ground investigations at sites down in the south-east of the UK. Both locations involve cable percussion drilling in order to provide foundation recommendations for new silo constructions. These sites have a regular scope of works that DCE undergo with CEMEX being one of our biggest clients.
The first site, CEMEX Northfleet in Kent, has a proposed development of a new 107 tonne silo to be built. A cable percussion borehole to 25m bgl will help provide an indepth geotechnical understanding. BRE suite testing and a report detailing findings and foundation recommendations will follow shortly.
The other site, CEMEX Uckfield in Uckfield, has a proposed development of a temporary 60 tonne silo to be constructed. The scope of works for this site will be a cable percussion borehole to 15m bgl. Again, laboratory testing and foundation recommendations will be provided.
