Discovery have an exciting challenge to start the new year off with; a series of Cable tool holes and trial pits to dig up in Scunthorpe. Our client, Walton & Co requested on behalf of FKN Limited for Discovery’s help with a desk study and site investigation in relation to their proposed development site. At the time of writing, the 25.98ha site is understood to comprise of three warehouse units with yards, offices, gatehouse, car and lorry parking as well as associated hard standing and infrastructure.
DCE have proposed the drilling of 18 No. dynamic sample boreholes and twelve cable tool holes to a maximum depth of 15m bgl with in-situ testing and collection of disturbed and undisturbed samples, as well as up to thirty machine excavated trial pits of 3m in depth to be dug. The installation of ground gas and groundwater monitoring installations will be also be carried leading to twelve returns visits over a period of 6 months.
